1. What is the National Environment Science Camp all about?
The National Environment Science Camp is nationwide movement for Environment Conservation. Campers from schools all over India assemble at Dudhwa National Park to Observe, Experience and Conserve the pristine Environment.

2. Have such Camps been organized in the past?
Karavan Heritage and Nature Society has organized the National Environment Science Camp in 2006, 2007, 2008. 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018,2019, This is the 14th edition of NEVSC.

3. Which schools have participated in the Camps?

4. What exactly is Karavan Heritage and Nature Society?
Karavan Heritage and Nature Society is a 20 year old non-profit organization devoted to Environment Education and Conservation.

5. What is the train connectivity to Dudhwa?
The two major railheads to Dudhwa National Park are: (i) Lucknow (for the teams from South, East and West) and (ii) Shahjehanpur (for the teams from North).

6. Which is the nearest airport from Dudhwa National Park?
The nearest operating airport is Lucknow.

7. What arrangements can you provide us at the Railhead? What will be the additional cost?
Karavan is already providing the Pick up and drop from the Railhead. Participants reach Shahjehanpur by train early in the morning and thence proceed to Dudhwa immediately.

Participants reporting at Lucknow can explore the Monumental Heritage of the City and proceed to Dudhwa early next day. Karavan can assist in arranging for the local transport, accommodation and meals. The cost will depend upon the group size.
8. What would be the right age group for the Camp?
National Environment Science Camp is an effort to correlate the theoretical knowledge with the real world outdoors. We have designed hands on activities to interest all age groups (especially Students from Class Fourth to Class Twelfth). The Scientific content is modified accordingly.

9. What do my students gain from your Camp?
The participants, camping right in the heart of a jungle, away from the luxuries and distractions of metro-life, automatically realize the importance of the Environment, of Community living and optimum utilization of the resources. Just after four days of camping experience, they emerge a better person.The Camp equips the Participants with Environmental Values, Scientific Knowledge and Soft Skills:- Appreciation of Nature, – Conservation ethics, Conceptual understanding of the Environment and Ecology, Experimental approach, Ability to observe, think and analyze, Tribal espirit d’corps, Self Discipline and Confidence, Rugged, let’s rough it out attitude.

10. Is the camp adventure/activity oriented?
The Adventure component and hands on participation form the very backbone of NEVSC. In fact the Camp has been structured like a Decathlon, a ten course race, where the adrenaline gets pumped time and again.

11. What would be the weather like at Dudhwa during the Camp?
During the winter months of November, December and January the Daytime Temperature is around 20-25 degrees Celsius; while the Night Temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius

12. What should be the size of our group?
Your group should consist of at least 24 students to a maximum number of 80 students.

13. What kind of transport will you provide us?
Karavan will provide Quality N.A.C Buses or SUVs to and fro Dudhwa. SUVs/Open Jeeps will be arranged inside Dudhwa.

14. Is it safe for the girls?
Please rest assured. Dudhwa is one of the safest places in the country.

15. How can we make the payments?
The payment is to be made in advance. A token sum of 50% may be sent along with the Participation Form and the balance amount is to be paid upon arrival at Dudhwa.

16. Can the dates be changed somewhat?
Our schedule is well defined. But slight alterations can be done subject to availability.

17. What is the last date for registration for the camp?
The last date for registration is 1st of October 2013Our advice for the participating teams is to register at the earliest to avail their choice of camp slot and to arrange for train reservations.

18. Who are the resource people/ experts?
The Experts/ Resource People comprise of the Karavan team members and trained personnel belonging to the Forest Department

19. Who has designed this program?
Karavan’s creative team in consultation with EVE teachers, Forest Department and Naturalists has designed the Camp.

20. How many teachers/escorts can accompany the students?
1 escort/teacher accompanied by 15 students will be provided complimentary arrangement.

21. Will the students be given some Project Work?
Project Work on the Environment is part and parcel of the Camp.

22. Is the camp only about learning and facts?
NEVSC is much, much more than learning and facts. It combines learning with fun, adventure, games and stimulating activities.

23. What is so special about Dudhwa?
The unbelievably beautiful dense Sal jungles, swamps and grasslands of Dudhwa are not to be seen anywhere else. Camping here is an out of the world experience.
